Transcript
Welcome to Astro Retrospective. My name is Samira Bechara, and I am an astrologer and historian living in Mount Lebanon. Right now, it's October 23rd, 2026 at 2.04 p.m.
This podcast will be about history and how we can use astrology to think and talk about the historical structures of injustice and the power dynamics which underlie our modern, globalized world. I'm looking forward to hosting astrologers and thinkers, people who are willing and ready to question and tweak our understanding of how we are where we are today and how we got here.
The goal is to help you exercise your invaluable critical thinking skills to help you analyze the world around you so you can better understand your place in it. The end goal of everything I do is inclusion and empowerment.
This podcast will be a little rough around the edges, just like me! I've got a professional mic, but no software, and I'm not going to be doing any serious editing. I hope the sounds of everyday life here in Lebanon - cars, construction, animals - help ground you into my positionality and feel present with me as we go on this journey together.
Happy Mercury Station, happy Venus Cazimi, and I'm looking forward to going down this rabbit hole with y'all. Until next time, ciao!
